Hi. Today I will be very brief as I am still processing …
Last November I went to give blood for routine check up. As I turned 35, all the doctors become your best friends … apparently. They said they would let me know if anything was wrong.
Couple month later, I get a letter from NHS saying that I need to attend eye screening with diabetic nurse. It was a bit suprising then as to why I would need such test if I am not diabetic, officially. So I went, did the test which probably wasn’t bad (still waiting to discuss this with doctors next Friday) since my eyesight is perfectly fine.
Then I started checking my glucose levels with Fibre LifeStyle chip. To my surprise, glucose levels were fluctuating between 5.5 and 9 in most cases and sometimes going over 10. So I called the clinic and made an appointment.
Today I attended my appointment. The doctor said that I was officially diabetic even though nobody told me that. So I was truly surprised. Tomorrow I am doing more tests and discussing blood test results on Friday, next week (after I am back from Scottish Highalnds adventure).
Moral of the story? I am lucky that I found out about diabetes now, not some years later … so I won’t need injections, only tablets and change of diet. Maybe, I will need to rebrand my content and say “Diabetic SEO agency owner hikes on top of Olymous Mount (highest peak in Greece)” or something (once I achieve this, of course).
So please, guys, do your routine check ups routinely …
