University of Swing 2025 in Edinburgh, Scotland

University of Swing 2025

Hello friends. I am committed to start daily blogging and, perhaps, weekly (or whatever frequency) vloggin about my life, business and other things as I decided to started to rebrand my blog. Instead of doing a little bit of this, a little bit of that, I thought I’d put everything I do under one roof – blog about swing dance festivals and events I attend, travelling, dancing, video games, TV shows, movie reviews, etc … also business content – SEO services, marketing, branding, affiliate marketing, etc … anyway, in this post, I wanted to review the amazing University of Swing 2025 that I attended last weekend (7th-10th of March, 2025).

University of Swing 2025

I had to drive to Edinburgh on Friday. It took me around 6 hours which was amazing as I love driving. The longer – the better. I left around 12 and I was there around 6 PM, right on time to check-in at amazing hotel (or actually, double bedroom with private bathroom) and then hit the Friday’s Party.

On Friday and Saturday parties, we had Castle Rock Jazz Band playing for us. These guys are super amazing. They are capable of electrifying entire dance floor and making us dance like crazy. It felt like entire floor was also bouncing and vibing. Really great band. This was, actually, the very first time I actually heard them in dancing career (almost 12 years).

Here’s snippet of their amazing performance:

It was one of rare events when I actually attended classes and they did not disappoint. A lot of improvisation. I don’t feel comfortable while doing it but it’s because it’s outside my comfort zone. And I can only push my limits when I am outside my comfort zone. That’s the only way to improve.

Parties, in general, were amazing. I danced a lot. With all the people (OK, not everybody but a lot). It was amazing. I also competed. While I did not make it to the finals, I really had a great time dancing while many people were watching all of the participants. I am quite happy that I didn’t make it – pressure stopped building up after prelims. But, there is the next festival and I will, once again, try my luck (or rather skill).

Anyway, I had to skip Sunday’s party as I was really tired and wanted to get back home. The drive home was horrible, actually. The fog was so bad, I could barely see what’s in front of my car. Literally, 1 metre visibility. So if you are allowed to do 60 mph, you can only do 20 mph becauuse otherwise, it’s stupidly dangerous. But it seems that I am back home, safe and sound!

Let me know if you want me to do more swing dance event reviews. I know I will be doing them regardless but, perhaps, next time, I will prepare better (more pictures, videos, etc …).

Thanks!
